What's New: Heavenly Vices Collection
We are thrilled to host the retail debut of the lovely Heavenly Vices collection of artisan-made jewelry at LJ Lewis Silver by Atlanta artist Samantha Jackson, being shown publicly for the first time here, until December 24th.
Both delightfully sinful with its inclusion of pavé-set diamonds, precious gemstones and antique components, as well as heavenly in its execution, Heavenly Vices’ unique designs make it easy to be seduced. From the currently popular Om symbol to an old-fashioned Cupids’ Bow, Ms. Jackson is on-trend as well as giving a nod to the Victorian era.
Her necklaces bring antique elements to new life, with Victorian love tokens and old watch fobs as main element of some pieces; the love tokens are old coins smoothed flat on one or both sides. In the 1800’s, they were often hand engraved with monograms, names or a message to a loved one. Ms. Jackson has rejuvenated this old-fashioned technique and created individual pieces of wearable art adding a variety of precious and semi-precious stones, sterling silver, 14k gold and rose gold. Watch fobs, or weighted charms that hung from men’s pocket watch chains to hold the chain in place, are beginning to be worn again by all genders embracing historical wearables. The fine antique parts and materials used are carefully sourced by Ms. Jackson and most have their provenance included with each completed piece.
Many of Ms. Jackson’s watch fobs and antique metals can be personalized by our Master Hand Engraver John Franciscus, who has his studio at LJ Lewis Silver. When you wear one of Samantha’s Victorian tokens or watch fobs, you are not only wearing a part of history, you are also creating your own new history by customizing the piece.
Please come see this unique work; perhaps it will be just the thing for someone on your holiday list, or your own wish list!
